Jodi Gerbi
Artist Bio:
Jodi Gerbi is a representational oil painter living in New Jersey who depicts human resilience through her portrayals of garbage, trash cans, and drain-pipes found in her daily life. She treats her contemporary figurative artwork in a similar way. Her subjects are caught sleeping on the subway or hunched over exhausted, like the discarded objects she captures in the garbage and streets of New York. Jodi has earned an MFA from the New York Academy of Art and a BFA from Syracuse University.
Her work has been shown at the Zhou B Art Center in Chicago, Sotheby’s, and the Flowers Gallery in New York as well as the gallery, MK Apothecary in Collingswood, New Jersey, and Fort Works Art, Fort Worth, Texas. She currently paints at Mana Contemporary in Jersey City, New Jersey.
